McGann-Mercy vincit

Students from McGann-Mercy High School in Riverhead competed in the annual Latin Declamatio at Stony Brook University Nov. 16. Representing Mercy were Danielle Allen, Elizabeth Morgan, and Melissa Wilson on Level II [high school], and Monica Healy and Allegra Maloney on Level I [middle school]. The competition involved memorizing 100 words in Latin from a literary work and presenting it before the judges and participants from other schools. Danielle Allen tied for first place with Riverhead High School with her outstanding declamation from Vergil’s Aeneid.
