Trinity takes baseball crown

Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, Hicksville, defeated St. Anthony’s, South Huntington, 9-7, in the deciding game of their best-of-three series to win the diocesan CHSAA baseball championship May 29. The two teams squared off at St. John the Baptist H.S., West Islip, after splitting a Memorial Day doubleheader at Farmingdale State. Holy Trinity won Game 1, 8-1, and St. Anthony’s won Game 2, 6-2. The Titans, the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, captured their second baseball crown in three seasons. The top-seeded Friars were trying to win their first title since 2000.
