Brentwood — Sister Ann Patricia Kelly, formerly Sister Joseph Inez, a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, died in Maria Regina Residence here on August 9. She was in the 62nd year of her religious life.
She entered the congregation in 1950. She obtained a BS degree in social studies from St. John’s University, Jamaica; an MS in social studies from Queens College and an MA in theology from St. John’s University.
In the Diocese of Rockville Centre, she served as principal of Our Lady of Lourdes School, West Islip (1969-71). She also ministered in the Brooklyn Diocese and New York Archdiocese: St. Joseph’s, Pacific Street, Brooklyn (1952-59); St. Brendan’s Elementary, Brooklyn (1959-65); St. Clare’s, Rosedale (1965-68); St. Cecilia’s, Brooklyn (1968-69); St. Martin of Tours, Brooklyn (1972-74); New York Department of Correction, New York (1974-75); Blessed Sacrament, Brooklyn (1975-80); St. Mel’s, Flushing (1980-85); The Mary Louis Academy, Jamaica Estates (1985-86); St. Edmund HS, Brooklyn (1986-95); Bethsaida Spirituality Center, Queens Village (1997-98); Resurrection-Ascension, Rego Park (1998-99); and Our Lady of Lourdes, Queens Village (1999-2009). In 2009 she retired to Sacred Heart Convent, Hempstead.
Her Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Chapel, Brentwood Aug. 13. Her interment followed in Calvary Cemetery here.
